How to use
Three seconds, on your way out the door
Hair perfume behaves differently from the bottle on your dresser. It goes on further away, lower down, and in smaller amounts than most people expect.
- 1
Hold it further than you think
About 20-25cm from dry hair. Close-range spraying soaks one patch instead of the whole head.
At arm's length the mist has room to break up and settle evenly. Held close it lands as droplets, which is how you end up with one cold wet patch that smells strong for an hour and then nothing.
- 2
Two spritzes, mid-lengths down
Skip the roots and scalp. Aim for the lengths and ends where hair moves and the scent can lift.
Roots sit against a warm scalp and pick up oil through the day, so scent turns over quickly there. The lengths stay cooler and move when you do, which is what releases it gradually.
- 3
Or mist the brush
One spray on your brush, then run it through. Softest, most even finish — good for fine hair.
This is the method to use on fine or freshly styled hair, and on curls where a direct spray would disturb the clumps. It uses less product and spreads it further.
Getting more out of it
Time it for the door, not the mirror
Spray as you leave rather than at the start of getting ready. The first fifteen minutes are the brightest part of any scent, and you want those on the way out.
Layer it under skin fragrance
Hair holds scent longer than skin but releases less of it. Mist hair first, then wear your usual perfume — the hair keeps a trail going after the skin has faded.
Refresh instead of rewashing
Day-three hair is what this was made for. Two sprays through the lengths buys another day between washes, which is easier on colour than shampooing again.
Keep it out of the sun
A hot car dashboard will turn any fragrance faster than time will. A bag, a drawer or a shelf out of direct light is enough.
What to skip
- Spraying the scalp — it doesn't hold there and it can feel itchy.
- Soaking wet hair. Wait until it's dry or nearly dry, or the scent dilutes as the water leaves.
- Spraying near your eyes or face. It's formulated for hair, not skin.
- Using it as a substitute for washing indefinitely. It's a refresher, not a dry shampoo.
